JET Solo Art Show Opening @ pinkghost Oct. 6, 2007

PinkGhost (www.pinkghost.net) & JET (www.flickr.com/photos/jetstreet) would like to invite you to JET Solo Art Show Opening. The opening will be held at PinkGhost October 6, 2007 from 7pm to 10pm.

"Please put away your tray tables and return your seat to it’s upright position JET is ready for take off. In preparing for a first solo show at Pink Ghost JET’s busy thinking up a way to reuse the refuse placed neatly next to the dumpster. Lashing together various bits of plywood cardboard and copper and coating them with magic Viking blood should make up the bulk of her new pieces. ANXIETY captures the spirit of the newest release, a nervous bittersweet illustrative style reminiscent of classic science fiction pulp. It creeps and crawls but is cozy and soft like a mold culture grown under a pair of gym socks tucked into the folds of your favorite blanket. Of course some of the old ghosts of JET’s street art past will certainly rise up to be recognized including, Fat Robot, Luchas, Angst ridden teens and others likely to be affiliated with a circus side show. So if you fancy stickers seen on the street, like scraps of cardboard and wood with fresh coats of spray paint or have a soft spot for creepy comic books JET has something in store for you starting Saturday October 6th @ Pink Ghost. Cupcakes vino and tunes will accompany this Danish delight."

TV: Heroes, The Office new season starts next week. Was that Curb Your Enthusiasm episode about the Dry Cleaning & "Anonymous Donations" part of their new season?

Miami: There's a new low brow art gallery in Miami - The Harold Gollen Gallery. They had a massive show for their Grand Opening a couple of weeks ago. If you're in Miami you should check it out. Pieces by Ron English, Marion Peck, Tim Biskup, Annie Owens, and many many more.

Music: CD Collector has revamped their location and their name to Radio-Active Records formerly known as CD Collector. Ok, without the formerly. Definitely worth checking out the expansion.
Rilo Kiley (Jenny Lewis & Blake Sennett) will be playing at Revolution Monday October 1st. If you've never heard them you can hear songs from their new album "Under the Black Light" at their website. I will be there! My favorite album by them is still "Execution of All Things".
Sweat Records is moving and opening a new location in Miami, can't wait to see what their new place looks like

Dr. Destruction by Muttpop

Here are some images of Muttpop's Dr.Destruction prototypes. I've been waiting for these to come out. They look awesome. There's the original Dr. Destruction and the Wild Dr. Destruction (image from vinylpulse) asimilating Joker from Batman. At first glance I thought they were going for Miami Vice Dr. Destruction. That would've been great! We could have had a Miami Vice upon his release. Oh well, we might just have a regular Dr. Destruction release party with luchador theme.

The figure comes with a removable cape, cigarette and cane and is scheduled to be released before the end of the year. * Fingers crossed *

Chewie R.I.P.

Some of you got to meet our little 7 month old Yorkie Chewie a.k.a PinkGhost Security.

Unfortunately he passed away last Friday September 7, 2007. We took him to get neutered and he died in the operation. We miss him so much :(
