Cristy C. Road - Heart Snatchers FEATURED Artist

www.pinkghost.net

Love by Cristy C. Road for Heart Snatchers Art Show.

Mini Bio: (http://www.croadcore.org) From the woodwork of the west Miami, romantic perversion, and early 90’s punk rock, Cristy C. Road has been illustrating ideas, people, and places, ever since she learned how to hold a crayon. Blending the inevitable existence of social principles, sexual curiosity, mental inadequacies, and dirty thoughts- Road thrives to testify the beauty of the imperfect.

Cristy Road graduated in 2004 with bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Illlustration from the Ringling school of Art and Design. Roughly two years after that, her repertoire consists of ten years of independent publishing, two graphic novels, and countless illustrations for a broad slew of magazines, record album art, concert posters, and political organizations.

She just concluded a National tour with SISTER SPIT, was featured in the Baby Remember My Name Anthology, and was named one of GO! NYC’s top 100 Women. With no obvious means to slow down, Road currently hibernates in Brooklyn, NY.

Heart Snatchers: The body of work thats taking over my life right now is BAD HABITS, a graphic novel about love and depression, drugs and self- revelation. Without diverting myself too much from my current life's work, my pieces illustrate my desire for honesty and vulnerability to exist as transparent and obvious among romantic relationships. The media used is my typically awkward blend of ink, markers, and digital color. Everything black is micron pens and/or sharpies, whereas everything in color is a mess- digital, marker, perhaps watercolor for the effect of distressed walls. The individuals I portray in my work are pleasantly dirty and real, letting us all know that an abolishment of human plasticity paves way for the openness I search for in real love.

Check out her work with her ripped heart and rib cages and have some delicious free cupcakes at the Heart Snatchers Opening. If you are interested in receiving the Preview email, to have the opportunity to purchase the pieces before anyone else, please email us at info@pinkghost.net with PREVIEW as the subject.

Natali Martinez - Heart Snatchers FEATURED Artist

www.pinkghost.net

Is Yours. by Natali Martinez for Heart Snatchers Art Show.

Mini Bio: (www.myspace.com/fitter_happier_) Born a Late afternoon, June 6th 1983 in the midst of chaos and flurry of rebellious bullets, Venezuelan Born Refugee/Artist/Sweetheart/Badass Natali Martinez fought her way to this country through jungle guerrilla, bloodthirsty natives, and evil bureaucrats looking for an opportunity to gain an education, a better life, and learn to ride a bicycle.

Currently Living and Working in a Magical Treehouse in Fort Lauderdale, FL when Natali isn't finishing up projects for her Bachelors in Animation at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, or projecting absurdly cute, and beautifully perplexing images onto pieces of magical wood through the use of mind bullets and pyrokinesis, she also enjoys a nice cup of coffee and the magical soul soothing voice of Thom Yorke and Radiohead.

Heart Snatchers: Her pieces explore the feeling of giving your heart away as opposed to it being taken from you. Her artwork has strong outlines and colorful scenes that will bring a smile to your face.

Hang out with her beautiful llamas & characters, meet Natali herself, and have some delicious free cupcakes at the Heart Snatchers Opening. If you are interested in receiving the Preview email, to have the opportunity to purchase the pieces before anyone else, please email us at info@pinkghost.net with PREVIEW as the subject.

Tatiana Suarez - Heart Snatchers FEATURED Artist

www.pinkghost.net

Heart Snatcher by Tatiana Suarez for Heart Snatchers Art Show.

Mini Bio: (www.tatisuarez.com) Tatiana, a 24-year old Miami native, is a freelance artist/illustrator who also dabbles in design. Her work combines a sense of fairness and charm, evident in the stylized form of the girls she portrays. Likes include, art nouveau, fashion magazines, zombie flicks, and animal planet.

Heart Snatchers: The girls in the pieces done for the Heart Snatcher show represent the more bold and domineering side of love. Each piece’s loosely based style is intended to be a reflection of love’s impulsive nature. The girls are ruthlessly snatchin’ hearts and takin’ names.

Hang out with her ruthless-heart-snatching girls, meet Tatiana herself, and have some delicious free cupcakes at the Heart Snatchers Opening. If you are interested in receiving the Preview email, to have the opportunity to purchase the pieces before anyone else, please email us at info@pinkghost.net with PREVIEW as the subject.

PinkTunes (Music at PinkGhost)

Recently several people have been asking me about music they heard while shopping at PinkGhost. Everyone working at PinkGhost has, at one time or another, been a 'DJ' of sorts and we all tend to like relatively obscure music. So I figured I'd be helpful to put something up here on the blog so customers can find out names and song titles of the artists that grace the PinkGhost in-store stereo.

To get things started, I have selected certain artists and tracks that are staff favorites and thus get played quite often in the store.
