I love 311 and it's right in my playground... DOWNTOWN! How exciting! Bayfront always hosts the best concerts there. I would love to see 311 live. "Whoooh amber is the color of your energy..."
It was 1995, I was 20 years old, I was "all mixed up" about the music in the rock world, because it had been a while since a great group came out. So my girlfriend and I went "down" to the cd store and came across the album "The Blue Album," which we fell in love with right away. Our "purpose" was to let our friends know what we discovered and before we knew it we we were singing to the tunes of, "Don't Stay Home, Jackolantern's Weather, and Hive." It was then my "loco" friends and I really fell in love with the "sweet" sound of 311 and we have loved them ever since. Everytime I listen to this now on my itunes, it brings me back to 1995! Please "don't let me down" by thinking I don't deserve the tickets to the concert, because I want to surprise my friend I went with that day in 1995!

As a teacher I try to inspire and encourage my students to express themselves. Obviously, music is a great way to express yourself and 311 has been able to do that for me in my past and in my classroom. I can remember when I first heard 311 I immediately thought they were cool, original, and of course cute:) To this day, I always listen to them and it takes me back to 95 when I first first heard them. Each song goes along with a memory I have from those years, being in my twenties. Now when I play 311 for my seventh graders I hope they can enjoy them as much as I did. I also hope they keep the memory with them that they had a teacher that played great music for them, and will always remember how cool 311 was and is like I do!
311 reminds me of a time growing up when I use to be shy. 311 actually helped me to learn more about myself and to become more social. When I first listened to 311, I was in high school. I remember a friend of mine told me that there was a group that came out and they heard a bunch of people talking about them. I thought this would be my opportunity to make friends. So I went out and bought the cd and made sure to know the words and who 311 was made up of. I even took their style and started wearing clothes like they did. Sure enough, on day during lunch I approached them and asked who they were listening to. They said, "Blue Album" by 311. I proceeded to tell them how great they were and even quoted a couple of songs. This led me into becoming friends with them and I even started dating one of the girls. To this day, I am friends with the same group of people and I still pretty much have the same style. 311 helped me learn who I am and become more confidant with myself.
You guys already know how great you guys are. I have been there since 2007 and i have been pictured and gone to all your events. Even your Pink Ghost Fair. I support you guys to the fullest and i miss you guys in Downtown Fortlauderdale,but Hollywood will gain Pinkghost artistic cultural style.
311 in MIA! A few yrs ago they were coming to South Florida, I had my tickets, was all excited to see 311 live!!! and then...along came a hurricane and destroyed So Flo, no 311! My little heart was crushed! This year my eyes light up when I saw 311 on the line up, unfortunately things haven't been going that well for me (like for so many others) and I simply can't afford to get tickets to go. I'm sad at thought of not seeing them play live and listening to "Down" amongst all the other genius songs they have. I get anxiety at the thought of never getting to see them! So, this is it! I came up with two final options: I will try my luck with you guys to win a ticket and/or I will just have to take a chair, plop it outside of the ampitheater and jam out to the music! haha but I am not missing 311 for a second time! So I anxiously await your verdict. Sending me to see 311 would be like therapy, a kid in a gigantic candy store, an old lady swimming in a pool of spaghetti, a wish come trueeee! Thanks for the opportunity! I just found out 311 is playing at Bayfront and I am so stoked! I'd love to see them play live, and it'd be my first time seeing any concert at Bayfront. I love their style combining rock with Caribbean flair - too cool! I hope I win tix, that would be like Christmas come early.
Ohh. 311 <3. for so many years I've been trying to see them live in concert whether it be here in Miami or for 311 day..... But something always detains me... Even when I have had flights booked and tickets bought. And now here you are in Miami and the one time that I do not have the funds to do so.
So many memories attached to so many different 311 songs. I hope they play an amazing show!

Oh PinkGhost, such a cute, yet badass store...you definitely feed my vinyl addiction. I have to make my way back sooner rather than later. Oh how I give thanks to WeMerge Magazine for opening my eyes to such a wonderful shop.
And it'd be great to catch a 311 show with my wonderful girlfriend, I know it would mean the world to her. They have some great songs and it'd be a helluva treat to catch them live.
