Bryan Collins values drawing as a refuge. He regards art as a way to unravel the mysteries floating around his mind. Upon observing the work of M.C. Escher, Bryan realized the immensely profound ability for art to communicate with parts of the mind, otherwise untouchable. He began to study artists such as Van Gogh and Dali. In his early teens he dove deeply into the world of comic books. In his late teens he was captivated by the imagination of Tim Burton.
Mostly using acrylic paint, Bryan works on panel, canvas, and DIY vinyl bases such as Munnys, Teddy Troops, and MadLs. He also creates with Prismacolor pencils, usually on cold press illustration board, and also works with scratch board.

About his work for Bad Habits & Guilty Pleasures:
With this body of work I intended to shed light on the penitence caused by vices, as well as recognizing the silliness of certain stagnant or trite pleasures. It is the recognition that we have these personality faults that forces us to a crossroad. If the thing is not regulated, we must either decide to kick the beast and move past it, or wallow in it and let it become our bondage. Guilty pleasures can disguise themselves as harmless pastimes, but if not monitored, there's always the possibility that they can lead into wildly unhealthy addictions. With art, I will put these thoughts under the microscope and report my findings in visual form.
