MINI BIO: Yosiell Lorenzo a.k.a Project Detonate (www.projectdetonate.com) was introduced at an early age to art by his eldest sister in a time when hip hop and grafitti defined urban life. Admiring her artwork, a combination of graffiti and fantasy-like creatures, Yosiell followed in his sister’s footsteps and found a creative outlet of his own. He dabbled in graffiti in the mid 90’s while at the same time developing himself as a musician. He taught himself how to play Bass guitar and has performed in several bands. After graduating from Kolbe Cathedral High School, Yosiell attended Paier College of Art where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Yosiell worked full time as a Sales Associate at a local retail shop and toured around the United States with his band, while simultaneously finding the time to create a part time internet business under the name of Project Detonate, where he has designed tour paraphernalia, t-shirts, and other projects. After doing this for some time, Yosiell realized he wanted to experiment with his art more hands on versus sitting behind a computer all hours of the day, and quickly fell in love with painting. As a result, Project Detonate has taken a life of its own with its myriad of art projects, available products and designs.

Pop! Pop!: Commercial food photographers use quite a bit of magic to make their products look delicious. These tricks include inedible glues, sprays, and of course photo-retouching. And all to promote something that is from beginning to end unhealthy for us and the environment. Fast food, like shiny cars, are symbols of the duality of American consumerism and ignorance. I have included additional photographs from personal projects and collaborations with other artists that I hope informs this triptych. Free Lunch is the first in a series of similar works.

Mini Bio: (www.patrickfatica.com) Patrick Fatica attended Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. He moved to Orlando, Florida in 1995 and spent the first few years developing a production company with a few friends called Eat Cake Productions. He went on to direct several original plays and the 16mm film "Five Miles from Heaven," which appeared in film festivals around the country. After almost a decade of traveling down different artistic paths, Patrick picked up the paintbrush again and dedicated himself to his painting. With over 30 shows between 2007 and 2008 his Pop-Surreal portraits have spanned from Los Angeles, CA to Madison, WI.

Artist Statement: My paintings usually start with a color idea, along with an emotive concept. They then evolve into compositions in which color and light are the primary subject. The subject matter usually revolves around "pop surreal" portraits mostly of women. I try to create a feeling in the color choices and their expressions rather than illustrate it through symbols or content. All of my paintings are done on hardboard with thin oil glazes separated by layers of Crystal Clear. Upon approach the viewer can see the many underlying layers.

Mini Bio: (www.justinroseart.blogspot.com) I'm 26 yrs. old and I live in Columbus, OH. Making pictures is my escape from reality. I like creating odd characters within worlds that could never exist and seeing how far my imagination will go. My inspiration comes from stuff like classic Disney animation, rock posters, skateboard and t-shirt graphics, horror movies, music, and more. In 2007, I graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design, as an illustration major, and have been exploring drawing and painting ever since.

Pop! Pop!: For the Pop!Pop! show I wanted to take a few classic fairy tales and put my own twist on them by changing the traditional iconic image of each character, that everyone recognizes, and create my own characters and graphic environments. Many of the classic fairy tales are about death (I guess that's what draws me to them) so I did get a little skull happy. I've always been inspired by typography, so I threw a little bit of that in there too.

If you like cute things like I do. You will surely fall in love with this little guy. He's small, kinda round and super chubby! He is the first of the Mini Marshall figures to be released and it is limited to 500 pieces. The rest of the figures will come blind boxed some time in the future. We will keep you posted :)

In the current fragile state of affairs, Nathan Lumm invites you to explore portraits of people he frequently encounters. The motivation of behind his work is to inspire you to identify with those anonymous entities that cross your path – The Rest of Us.

It is easy to ignore news of people without a name so Nathan decided to give them a face. There is an importance in realizing the nameless people affected around you could turn out to be you one day and that awareness is what Nathan is striving for.

Enjoy discovering some clarity, cupcakes and music goodness at pinkghost.

ART: The Rest of Us: Nathan Lumm's Solo Art Show opens at pinkghost March 21. For more info click here.

- March 21 is also the opening of the Group Art Show: Blender At Full Circle Gallery. It is a few blocks away from pinkghost so stop by and check it out.

- You can see videos of artists drawing at www.sketchtheatre.com. Artists include Molly Crabapple, Gary Baseman, Luke Chueh, Travis Louie, Michael Hussar, and more!

MOVIES: Click here to see the trailer of 500 Days of Summer. I can't wait to see it! It stars Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt.

- Watchmen is released in theatres nationwide on March 6th. It has received mixed reviews but I am still watching it!

- Coraline has been released for a while but if you haven't seen it, you should! The animation is amazing & beautiful.

MUSIC: Modest Mouse will be playing at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale on SUNDAY, MARCH 8th. It is literally 2 blocks away from pinkghost. So stop by and say hi if you're in the area :)

- You can see FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS April 7, 2009 at the BankUnited Center in Miami. (It's that big new venue at The university of Miami)

- If you're a fan of RATATAT you can check them out live at REVOLUTION in Ft. Lauderdael on SUNDAY, APRIL 12th.

- Then, on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22nd ELECTRIC SIX will be playing at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale

- Thursday, May 7th @ Bankunited Center: KINGS OF LEON perform live with opening act The Walkmen

- And in case you plan way ahead of time Tuesday, JUNE 9th @ CULTURE ROOM: ANIMAL COLLECTIVE PERFORM LIVE!!
